A makeup artist has revealed how you can find your perfect foundation – and it may throw you for a loop.
The secret was shared in a TikTok video this month by Selena Marchand, a professional makeup artist who is based in Canada.
Marchand often takes to TikTok to share her expert makeup tips, tricks and tutorials with her viewers.
In a video posted to TikTok this month, makeup artist Selena Marchand revealed how to find the right foundation for your skin type

‘For foundation, if you choose the wrong foundation, it’s going to look absolutely horrible on your skin,’ Marchand began.
‘So what I suggest is to choose the opposite of your skin type.
If you’re dry, you want to choose a really dewy foundation,’ she explained.
Marchand told viewers that the foundation she chose was one that had a bit of a sheen to it, because she has dry skin.
However, on the other hand, the makeup artist instructed that if you have oily skin, you want to go for a foundation that has a matte finish to it.
‘If you’re dry and you choose a matte foundation, it’s not going to be good,’ Marchand furthered.
‘And if you’re oily, and you’re using something with shimmer in it, you’re going pill to take before sex feel like a little greaseball.’
Once you have found the right foundation, the makeup artist showed how to properly apply it.
She began with her skin prep, which saw her putting on a moisturizer by the brand Embryolisse, which she applied before any foundation.
